HAGGIS was the meal of the day at a north Cotswold primary school as youngsters celebrated the life of a famous poet.
The Year 2 children of at Swell Primary School were producing the famous Scottish dish - immortalised in verse by Robert Burns - to mark Burns' Night on Saturday.
They prepared and ate Haggis for their lunch along with mashed potato, mashed swede and carrots. For pudding they made Short bread which they enjoyed with fresh fruit salad.
