Burglars struck twice in the same street in Hampshire.

Police are appealing for information following two daytime burglaries in The Crossway, Portchester, on Monday morning.

Entry was forced at the rear of both properties stealing gold jewellery and cash PC Tara Magnus said: “We would appeal to anyone who was in The Crossway on Monday morning and noticed suspicious activity to contact us.

“Please ensure you keep valuables out of view and secure all windows and doors in unoccupied rooms.

"Avoid leaving your car keys by the front door or in an easily accessible location and invest in a timer switch for lights and radios if you leave your home empty.”

Anyone with information relating to these two burglaries should contact PC Magnus at Fareham police station on 101.
