A SOUTHAMPTON teenager, who admitted two robberies, was released on bail knowing a probable prison sentence awaits him on his return.

β€œHe knows the likely outcome will be adverse,” remarked defence barrister Chris Stopa at the city crown court.

Desmond Vanzyl, 18, of Chiltern Green, pleaded guilty to robbing a man of a mobile phone and his hat and robbing a woman of her mobile phone and three memory cards.

He will be sentenced after the trial of a co-accused in April.
