Motorists are facing disruption when part of a busy Hampshire motorway is closed.
The M27 entry slip road westbound at junction seven for Hedge End will be closed from 10pm this evening to 6am tomorrow morning.
This is to install standard sensors on the road that monitor traffic flow and count traffic and can detect congestion which link to the queue warning signs and speed reduction signs on the motorway.
Road users will be diverted via junction 5.
Further closures are planned for the rest of this week, including on the M271 from Redbridge to Lordshill, also to install the same road sensors.
This means the northbound carriageway will be closed between 10pm and 6am tomorrow <<4 February>>.
Road users will be diverted on the A35, A3057 and Brownhill Way.
Then the M27 junction five westbound entry slip road at Eastleigh will be closed from 10pm on Thursday <<feb 6>> to 6am the next morning for the same sensor installation work.
Road users will be diverted via junction 3.And the eastbound carriageway of the M27 junction four at Chilworth will be closed between the slip roads from 10pm on Saturday <<feb 8>> for the same work to be carried out.
Road users will be diverted via the M3 junction 13.
