BBC Radio Solent’s Steve Harris is leaving his popular Drivetime show at the end of the week after six years.
He will present his final programme in the 4-7pm slot on Friday.
Steve, pictured, is not moving far though. From next month he will present one of Solent’s breakfast shows, Breakfast in Dorset, which was launched six months ago for listeners in the Weymouth and Dorchester areas.
He is taking over from Alina Jenkins, who has moved to the BBC Weather Centre in London.
Steve said: “I’m terrifically excited. Breakfast is the place to be in radio – even though it involves getting up at 4am – and I think I’ll be able to make a real go of presenting this show in my adopted home county.”
