AMERICAN rock band SKATERS will perform at the Hare & Hounds, Birmingham on February 28, following the release of their debut album, Manhattan.
The band formed in late 2011 after singer Michael Cummings and drummer Noah Rubin spent a year trading demos back and forth from LA to London with guitarist Joshua Hubbard, of Dirty Pretty Things fame.
The trio met up in New York, booked three shows, learned the songs Cummings and Rubin had been tinkering with along with a handful of Pixies covers.
A week later, they released their Schemers EP, which they offered as a free download so people could get a taste of their bold, swaggering rock, which distils elements of The Clash, the Ramones, and The Strokes into their own unique sound.
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets, which cost £8.50 are available from http://hareandhoundskingsheath.co.uk/
