A DRIVER has been rescued this afternoon after driving his van into fast moving flood water.
Firefighters from Romsey and Lyndhurst were called to a ford near Plaitford near Romsey amid reports a motorist was in trouble.
The man became trapped at around 2.30pm after entering around two feet of fast moving flood water. He was rescued by crews using water rescue equipment.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service has reminded drivers not to drive into flood water.
A spokesman said: “If you are unsure of the depth, do not attempt to drive through it and find an alternative route.”
