AN ELDERLY couple in Hampshire have lost a thousand pounds after being scammed into handing over their bank card.
The couple from Bitterne took a call from someone claiming to be from a well known retailer, telling the couple that their card had been used fraudulently.
They were persuaded to give their PIN details and told that a courier would arrive at their home in Hillside Avenue to collect their bank card.
Half-an-hour later a man arrived and took the card, which was later used to buy £1,000 of goods.
The man is described as being Asian, aged about 22, of a slim build, with short, dark, hair. He was wearing a grey suit, a light coloured shirt and tie.
Anyone with information about the man, who visited the house on Sunday, should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
