It is one the most anticipated new homes developments on the south coast.

Invited guests attended a VIP preview of the opening of the first showhomes at the Admirals Quay development at Ocean Village in Southampton on Thursday.

The 299-home development of one, two and three bedroom apprtaments, many overlooking the waterside opens to visitors tomorrow.

Already, there are 700 people who have registered an interest in one of the homes in three towers – The 26-floor Morseby Tower, The Hawkins Tower and the Blake Building.

Designed by award-winning architects HGP, the private residential development is being built by Allied Developments. First apartments will be completed by this summer with the development completed by the end of the year.

The project will include eight new restaurants, with the whole project due to be completed by early summer 2015.

“Admirals Quay is a key development for Southampton and we wanted to invite professionals from all sectors in the City, including solicitors; accountants, surveyors and also members of the City’s Chamber of Commerce, to come and see the transformation that is taking place at the site” said Alan Watt, Head of Savills Residential Development Sales in the South.

“We will be launching the first phase of apartments this weekend.”

The briefing gave those who attended the opportunity to meet the teams from both Savills and developers Allied Developments Ltd, as well as key members of the construction and architects partners that are involved.

During a short speech, Alan Watt introduced the attendees to Admirals Quay, giving a brief overview of the market and his anticipation of the success and popularity of the apartments. He was followed by Allied Developments Ltd Director Peter Morton, who gave a brief insight into this major residential development of 299 apartments.

With three apartments blocks, one of which will be the tallest residential building in Southampton, Admirals Quay stands on the waterfront. Prices for the apartments in the first phase start with prices from £145,000 for a one bedroom apartment with parking. Larger waterside apartments with parking will also be available in this phase.
