A BODY has been discovered at a former cinema in a Hampshire town.

Police descended on Junction Road, Totton, this afternoon investigating a sudden death in Savoy House, now a hostel.

Eyewitnesses said officers were on the scene for more than seven hours while paramedics were rushing in and out of the building.

But now cordons have been lifted and the street is once again quiet with residents left wondering what had happened.

One neighbour said: “A first responder vehcile pulled up at around 2.30pm and a team of medics ran right around the back, and then an ambulance turned up and more paramedics ran out. We also saw a scientific unit and saw police moving around one of the flats but we had no idea what was going on.”

Police remain tightlipped about the details, only confirming a sudden death had occurred but after a routine investigation there were no suspicious circumstances found.
