Major city road closed due to flooding
ONE of the major routes in and out of Southampton was closed today due to flooding.
Water was pushing up manhole covers in Mountbatten Way in Southampton, flooding the carriageway, making conditions dangerous for drivers.
The council shut the road and diverted traffic via Shirley, but reopened it at 2.20pm.
