BARRY school pupils almost needed treatment for being rendered in awe when a St John Ambulance initiative saw them witness some rugby heroes.
Stunned Oak Field primary pupils, from Key Stage 2, were visiting Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium to learn about First Aid procedures and undertake a venue tour, when the entire Welsh Rugby team took to the field to practice on the pitch.
Teacher, Mrs Johns said the keen youngsters rapidly picked up a few tips for use in future school rugby matches.
She said: “Welsh player Ian Evans then offered to award the children with their First Aid certificates.
“‘I can’t believe what a fantastic week the children of Oak Field have had.
“It’s been wonderful to see them out and about enjoying experiences which have enhanced their learning. Oak field is going from strength to strength.”
