A Southampton-born cancer survivor is planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
Former company sergeant major Marc Roberts, 49, is part of a 14-man Army-based team that will be raising money for Cancer Research UK.
The team leaves on March 8 and also includes four serving officers and two wounded servicemen currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Marc served in Iraq and Northern Ireland. He left the Army after 22 years of service in 2010 and then two years later was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Leading the trip will be Sergeant Ben Hughes, who Marc took through basic training.
The team are covering their own expenses and hope to raise £100,000 for Cancer Research UK and the forces charity, Remount.
