CHANGES to a Hampshire bus service has left residents waiting at bus stops for up to two hours.

Last year First bus implemented major changes to its services across the county.

But as part of the changes the number nine route, which saw buses travel through Gosport twice an hour, was replaced with the number 11 route which only travels through Alverstoke and Anglesey every two hours after a grant to subsidise the route came to an end.

Now Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage and councillors Alan Scard and Graham Burges have met with Marc Reddy, regional director of First as they try to improve services for the area.

The MP said that she will continue to keep pressure on First and hold further meetings with Hampshire County Council in the coming weeks until a solution is found.
