A Southampton care home may have the happiest residents in the UK. A survey of care home residents revealed that Anchor’s Dawson Lodge in West End is one of the happiest in the country.
The care home staff and residents gathered to celebrate the news and tuck into home-made cakes and biscuits, as well as having a sing-along of their favourite tunes.
Your Care Rating carried out the survey which goes to care home residents nationwide and examines four areas – staff and care, home comforts, choice and having a say, and quality of life.
Resident Janice Collins, 80, said: “The survey gives us residents the opportunity to provide feedback on the care we receive. I like living here, the staff are very caring and there are lots of meaningful activities organised for us.”
