A YOUNG man was viciously set upon in an unprovoked attack outside a Hampshire nightclub.

The 30-year-old victim was in Hampshire Terrace in Southsea when he passed a man and a woman arguing outside Sandals nightclub.

The man lashed out at him violently - fracturing his eye socket and cheekbone and causing severe bruising.

He needed hospital treatment and is now recovering at home.

His attacker has olive skin, is in his mid-20s, is 5ft 7ins tall and of stocky build.

He wore short-sleeved black top, dark blue jeans, black square-toe leather shoes and had a black leather jacket.

The woman is in her 30s, slim, white, 5ft 6ins tall and wore a light-coloured top, a denim skirt and boots.

Witnesses should contact DC Ives at Fratton Police Station on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
