TWO men staged a Happy Slapping-style ambush on a cyclist in Hampshire.
The 29-year-old rider was cycling on Angerstein Road in Portsmouth when a man approached him close to the junction with Monmouth Road and asked him for a lighter.
When he reached into his pocket the man punched him in the face causing him to fall to the floor.
After falling he saw another man filming him from the pavement on his mobile phone, before the first man assaulted him again.
The victim needed treatment at the Queen Alexandra Hospital for severe bruising and is awaiting results of a X-Ray to check for suspected fractures.
The first man is in his late 20s, 5ft 10ins tall, of athletic build with brown hair cut in a short back and sides.
He wore blue denim jeans and a dark Adidas hoodie.
His accomplice was also white and had a white mobile phone.
