POLICE have today named a pedestrian who was killed on a busy Hampshire main road.
Alan Cunliffe died when he was in collision with a car in The Avenue, Southampton, shortly after 4pm on Sunday [February 16].
Mr Cunliffe, 70, from Chilworth, was crossing the road close to the junction with Saxholm Way when he was struck by a burgundy Audi A3 travelling north towards Chilworth.
Emergency services took him to Southampton General Hospital but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
The Audi driver, who was uninjured, was a 23-year-old from the Bournemouth area.
Officers are continuing their investigations into the crash.
