POLICE are investigating five early morning burglaries in Romsey.

Officers have stepped up patrols following the burglaries in the Cupernham and Woodley areas of the town.

Homes were targeted at Stapleford Close, Beverley Gardens, Ashley Meadows, Hogarth Close and Brook Way between 2am and 6pm last Friday.

Among the burglars’ haul were iPads, laptops, cameras, handbags and cash along with small electrical items.

Romsey’s top police officer Inspector Jackie Willson said that altogether property running into several thousand pounds had been stolen from insecure homes.

“There were no signs of forced entry at the properties that were burgled. They were targeting properties that were insecure. The message here is to lock all doors and secure windows before going to bed,” said Inspector Willson.
