A NEW group has been launched in Hampshire to support stroke survivors and their families.
The Stroke Association and the Rotary Club of Chandler’s Ford and Itchen Valley have set up the group to offer information, support and the opportunity to meet others.
The group meets between 2pm and 4pm on the last Thursday of every month at the Velmore Centre in Chandler’s Ford.
Dennis Hoare, from Fair Oak, is one of the estimated 32,000 people in Hampshire living with the effects of a stroke.
He said: “My stroke was a very unwelcome surprise. I’m really looking forward to attending this group because it will give me a chance to share experiences with other people who have been affected by stroke.”
