IT was a send-off fit for a mod.
A convoy of colourful scooters followed the hearse to All Saints Church in Eastleigh for the funeral of Jim Ogburn.
The founding member of Eastleigh Spitfires scooter club died last month after a five-year struggle with lung disease and heart failure.
His widow Deborah Ogburn, 46, paid tribute to the 60-year-old dad-of-six who was known for his wicked sense of humour.
She said: “People just loved being around him because he was a laugh a minute.
“They knew that wherever he was going, there would be a really good laugh and he loved his children.
“He’s going to leave a really big hole in the scooter community.
They’re going to miss him big time.”
Jim, a former civil engineer, was laid to rest at Eastleigh cemetery yesterday, followed by a wake at Bishopstoke Working Men’s club.
