DEVELOPERS say they are ready to submit a formal planning application for 275 homes and a sports complex on the outskirts of Romsey.

Barratt and David Wilson Homes will put in their planning application for the development at Ganger Farm next month .

The plans would deliver a “new community sports hub” comprising eight sports pitches, a pavilion providing changing facilities on land currently a pick-your-own facility.

Community allotments are also included in the proposals The developers say 20 per cent of the new homes would be affordable.

The submission follows a recent second round of public consultation which saw more than 200 people visiting a two-day exhibition of the plans.

Julian Jones, development director for Barratt and David Wilson Homes, said: “We were pleased that so many people were able to come along to our exhibitions for Ganger Farm. This time, we were able to share more detailed information, such as the number of houses proposed and to answer questions about our drainage strategy for the site. It was important for us to be able to respond to these key issues.

“Our development would help to meet an identifiable need for sports pitches in Romsey and, together with the allotments that would be available for use by residents of the wider area, would mean that a real community asset is created on Ganger Farm.”

Romsey Rugby Club and Hockey Club have both given support to the plan and saythey would be keen to move to Ganger Farm.

If there are now 5 million more people living in Romsey than previously, I'm unsurprised this has lead to traffic jams.
Perhaps a by-pass should be considered? Or a ring road?

Who said 5m more people in Romsey?
It's 5m more In the UK obviously.
Population increase due to mass immigration is the main reason why house prices are above the level that many people can afford.
If you vote for the big three parties, you are voting for;
MORE Roma
MORE queues
MORE traffic jams
MORE immigration
MORE crowded parks
MORE packed surgeries
MORE houses on green belt land
MORE crowded trains and buses
MORE centralised control by the EU
MORE power cuts due to more demand
MORE feeling like a foreigner in your home town
MORE time waiting to get an NHS appointment or operation
MORE classes of kids needing special training in basic talking
MORE systematic, total betrayal of all that your forefathers worked and fought for

Mass immigration is soley for the benefit of slumlords, employers who pay crap wages & brought about by parasitic power grabbing EU quangocrats!

The EU is a creeping emerging dictatorship

To those that cry 'racist' & 'xenophobe' when anyone expresses concern about the adverse practical consequences of over population.

1] Don't complain when you're stuck in traffic jams burning petrol going nowehre fast

2] Don't complain when you've been undercut in the workplace by an East European living in an HMO so able to undercut you with your mortgage commitments

3] Don't complain when you can't afford a house becuase they're so expensive due to demand caused by the inlux of millions of people

4] Or complain when you find the social housing waiting list is now 5 years rather than 18 months.

4] Don't complain if you see English countryside being built on

5] Don't complain at ever more rat race & crowds

6] Don't complain at more pollution

7} Don't complain when the nationstate democracy & Parliamentary sovereignty your forefathers fought to defend in two world wars & a cold war has been completely taken by the EU

The key issue, Julian, is that your suggestion is for a site outside the Romsey development boundary.

Ideas for housebuilding in locations designated as Countryside in the Local Plan, as is the case with Ganger Farm, expect rejection.

Yes & excessive immigration is to blame.
5m more people all wanting a roof over their heads!
How come so few people mention this in connection with the housing shortage!

Developers have too much control. They're not interested in local plans & hounding needs as they assess an area based on shareholders profits then manipulate local 'needs' into the plans to try & get them passed.

Council's should take more control, assess the needs of the area, fully engage local residents & then put plans out to tender to a number of developers & choose the developer that seems best suited for the role.

I'll be opposing the application.

Next time you're stuck on one of our main roads driving at crawling pace burning petrol going nowhere fast then ask yourself this;

Do we really need more people here?
Who do these people benefit?
Mainly slumlords & low wage payers meaning they take jobs & wages are driven down for the locals. Yet Labour support this & the EUssr!
What about their democraphic?
Not enough people left of working age & not enough people there to look after their elderly folk?
How will the East European countries build their economies if they're all here trying to boost our for the benefit of a few companies here ?

Area of Eastern Europe comprising;
Poland 312,685 km²
Estonia 45,226 km²
Latvia 64,589 km²
Hungary 93,030 km²
Romania 238,391 km²
Slovakia 49,035 km²
Czech Republic 78,866 km²
Lithuania 65,200 km²
Bulgaria 110,994 km²
Total = 1,057,000 km²
Area of the UK = 243,610 km²
Area of Eastern Europe = 4.35 times that of the UK.

Consider just these two of those East European countries;
Poland
Population 38.54 million
312,679 square kilometres
So just over half the population density of the UK.
Romania
A 3rd the population of the UK, but the same land area as UK.
So a third the population density of the UK
UK
Population 63m million.
243,610 km2

Does it make sense for uncontolled immigration of people from these countries with low population density to one with a housing shortages, congested roads, rail network, over burdened electricity supply grid etc etc?
Not to mention immigrants from other countries outside the EU!
