More than 100 homes in Southampton without power for five hours

MORE than hundred homes in Southampton were left without power for five hours.

Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) say 120 customers were affected by the outage.

Homes in Maplin Road, Lower Brownhill Road, Windbury Road and Atherfield Road were all affected.

SSE says the loss of power from 1.40pm yesterday was caused by a “fault on the high voltage network”, and that all homes had power restored by 7.15pm.

A spokesman said customers were contacted with “regular updates”, saying: “We contacted vulnerable customers to make sure they were OK and to give them information when the power was down.

“We would like to apologise to anyone affected for any inconvenience caused.”

This is a joke!! Another power cut in the space of 3 months, all you get when you call up is an automated message, we were given NO information, we have yet to recieve the compensation promised from Christmas and to top it off, we now have no BT broadband or landline phone because the SSE engineers cut through all the cables!!!

Oh no! Five hours! How damned inconvenient, a whole five hours. That's truly awful. It must seem like the end of the world has come.
Still at least something is still working to allow you to post details of the apocalypse.
