A KAYAKER was rescued from the Solent by coastguards after being knocked into the sea by a wave.
Rob Pragnell had gone fishing with his 13 foot kayak off Princes Green on the Isle of Wight.
The 45-year-old painter and decorator from Cowes said: “I managed to cling on to the craft, but try as I might I could not climb back on board without it rolling me out again. I must have attempted this four or five times.
“After around 20 minutes I was getting really cold so I reached into the kayak and radioed Solent Coastguard. I was so relieved when Cowes lifeboat arrived.”
The lifeboat brought Rob and his kayak back to Cowes lifeboat station, where he was greeted by his wife after Thursday evening’s rescue.
