HAMPSHIRE’S biggest summer spectacular has launched its annual Countryside Education Competition.
The Daily Echo-backed New Forest and Hampshire County Show held the launch at the Bransgore-based Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy, the show’s charity of the year in 2014.
The competition enables schools to experience the working countryside and learn how the Forest is managed to produce food.
Work produced by the pupils in conjunction with their visits is then displayed within the Discovery Zone at the show, held at New Park, Brockenhurst.
A show spokesman said: “A visit by local children will be taking place at New Park this spring where participating schools will spend a day sampling local produce and learning how to manage New Forest woodlands.
“Sponsored by ExxonMobil, this fantastic experience will enable children to understand and appreciate their local countryside.”
