A FORMER telephone relay station in Southampton could be knocked down and replaced with houses.

Julie Pardey has applied for planning permission to build two detached, two-storey houses on the site in Garfield Road, Bitterne.

The former relay station was converted into a Spiritualist meeting room in 1984 but has been out of use for the past two years.
