SCHOOLCHILDREN in Hampshire have waved off their head teacher as she heads to Kenya as part of a partnership programme.
For the past three years, Ringwood Junior School has been developing strong links with Zelyn Academy, a primary school in Kenya. Sally-Ann Evans said: “The original intention was for our children to gain a better understanding of life in another, very different, culture. “Since those very early days, the partnership has grown, with children in both schools actively taking part in an on-going reciprocal relationship.”
She has been preparing to spend time at the school located in slums outside Nairobi which was set up by Lynn Johnson who has been visiting Ringwood Junior school to tell them of her experiences.
