SOUTHAMPTON-based cruise ships have taken many of the top honours in an annual poll of passengers organised by the world’s largest cruise website.

P&O Cruises’ supership Azura came out on top as the best vessel for families in the all ship sizes category of the 2014 Cruise Critic UK Cruisers Choice Awards.

Three other Southampton ships featured in the large ship sector, including P&O Cruises’ Ventura for the best fitness facilities, Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth for choice of shore excursions and top cabins on board Celebrity Eclipse.

In the best small ship section Fred Olsen Cruise Line took the award for embarkation and shore excursions with Braemer and Black Watch vessels respectively while the prize for cabins went to P&O Cruises’ Adonia.

Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse also won the best ship from the UK in the destinations class.
