A SPECIAL ceremony celebrated a landmark in the creation of a huge new Southampton student development.
The topping out ceremony on Tuesday was held at the £70million Mayflower Halls complex in the heart of the city.
It was held after the final roof slab was laid at the top of its tallest tower, which is 17 storeys high.
When it is completed later in the summer, it will provide flats for 1,100 students at the University of Southampton.
