A HAMPSHIRE school is celebrating after completing a £500,000 expansion.
Pupils at Titchfield Primary School welcomed the official opening of two new classrooms and an outdoor play area.
It was part of a county council project to help the school deal with increasing pupil numbers over the past few years.
Admin officer Gemma Selmes said: “We have had a steady increase from 150 to 200 pupils over the past six or seven years and we have been using temporary classrooms to meet that need for the past five years.
“These are purpose-built classrooms for Year R and Year 1 with an outdoor play area that has gone down really well with the children.”
Children began using the new classrooms, built by Hampshire firm Dorelbury, last week while the temporary rooms will be retained and used for music and special needs provision.
CHILDREN at Titchfield Primary also had a hoot when bird trainers Regal Raptors paid a visit to the school.
Pupils were invited to hold a variety of birds including owls and hawks and later saw flight demonstrations across the playground.
