HAMPSHIRE remained on flood alert last night with high tides expected in the early hours of this morning.
The Environment Agency warned spring tides would be at their peak level at around 1am with high winds of between 20-40mph increasing the risk.
A warning remains in place at Romsey where several roads have been closed over the past few weeks due to flooding from the River Test, although waters have receded significantly in recent days.
Flood alerts are also in place at the River Meon at Wickham and Stubbington, near Fareham, and Winchester where the River Itchen has already caused severe flooding.
But there are currently no warnings at Lymington which has struggled to fight off coastal flooding since the turn of the year.
