YOUNG artists will be reaching for their paintbrushes to capture their mum on canvas.
Children from 20 schools are taking part in a Mothers' Day portrait competition organised by the Swan Shopping Centre.
The Eastleigh venue is looking for the best depiction of mum in whatever materials – whether felt tip pens or even computer-generated.
The closing date for entries is March 12 and the best entries will be displayed in the Swan Centre.
All the portraits will also be put on the centre’s Facebook page.
Prizes will be awarded in two age categories – 5-7 and 8-11 – with winners receiving a £25 gift voucher and a gift box for their mother.
Their original portraits will be framed for a Mothers' Day gift.
