A WOMAN whose body was undiscovered for weeks at her home in Winchester died of unknown causes, an inquest heard.
Anne Robson, 89, of Christchurch Road, was discovered sitting in her bath on February 21 last year after a concerned neighbour contacted police, reporting that he hadn’t seen her for a number of weeks.
The inquest heard that Ms Robson, a former school matron who had lived in Russia, had visited her doctor in December 2012 saying that she heard voices and had hallucinations, but was otherwise fit for her age.
Neighbour Simon Kane said in his statement that she was a lonely woman, who “kept herself to herself and never had any visitors”.
Dr Adnan Al-Badri told the inquest that she either died of a heart attack or hypothermia and that because the body had gone unfound for several weeks it was uncertain as to what had led to her death.
Senior coroner Grahame Short recorded a verdict of unascertained causes, due to a lack of clear evidence.
