THIS was the dramatic scene after a lorry overturned in a collision with a delivery van.
The HGV toppled over on to its side after colliding with a UPS truck in Parham Drive, in the Boyatt Wood area of Eastleigh.
Two crews from Eastleigh fire station were called after 100 litres of the lorry’s diesel cascaded on to the road.
They spent two hours containing the scene and making the area safe before the wreckage was cleared.
The lorry driver managed to escape from his cab but was taken by ambulance to hospital while the UPS truck was left with severe damage to its front right side.
The incident unfolded at around 7.45pm last night.
