A GANG left a man with facial injuries in a late night city centre attack.

Police are appealing for witnesses after three men and a woman approached the 56-year-old man on The Avenue last night and assaulted him without warning.

The incident happened on the pavement between Brighton Road and the Vauxhall dealership.

The victim required medical attention after he was left with a split lip and loose teeth.

Officers say the gang were in their early 20s.

If you have saw anything or heard noises at the time of the attack, call PC Daniel Smith on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

This is why people. Don't go in to town anymore when they get caught. The magistrates only give them a 10pound fine you can see why people lose hope in the cps and police
