FORTY five Hampshire homes were evacuated after a cylinder caught fire today.
The Acetylene cylinder caught fire at the rear of a house in Springvale, Swanmore shortly after 4pm.
Five fire crews were called to the scene, and all homes within a 200metre radius were evacuated.
The village hall was used to accommodate people forced to leave their home until the fire had been put out by 7.15pm.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the blaze.
