A BLOCK of flats was destroyed by a huge blaze last night.
Around 20 firefighters battled through the night to contain the fire at a converted cottage in Niton on the Isle of Wight.
A total of five fire engines were called to the scene at Puckaster Lane at around 5pm and found fire had broken out on the first floor of the two-storey property.
A further two fire engines attended the scene to tackle the blaze.
The building was left completely destroyed by flames following the collapse of the roof at around 9.15pm.
Firefighters remain on scene this morning to dampen down the damaged property.
