POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman's computer tablet was snatched from her hands.

The 22-year-old posted the Samsung Galaxy tablet for sale on the Gumtree website and met with the buyers in The Square, Knowle Village.

Two men turned up and snatched it before throwing counterfeit money towards her.

The incident happened at around 8.40pm on Tuesday (March 4).

Police have described one of the suspects as white, aged in his mid to late 20s, around 5ft 9ins tall, stock build, and with an eastern European accent. He was wearing a black beanie hat.

The other suspect was wearing a woollen jumper type jacket.

PC Emma Purser, from the Bishops Waltham Safer Neighbourhoods team, said: “The victim has told us there were two members of the public in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident.

“One was a woman walking a dog and the other was a man who indicated he may have seen the suspects hiding.

“We are treated this as an isolated incident at this time.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Purser at Bishops Waltham police station on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
