CIVIC chiefs have approved a £30,000 grant to fund the extension of a town car park.

The money is part of a larger project to enlarge Eastleigh’s Pavilion on the Park facility.

Councillors on the Eastleigh Local Area Committee agreed £30,000 from its developer contributions towards the car park changes, which forms part of Eastleigh Youth Trust’s proposal for an annexe extension set to cost £545,000 in total.

The committee has already given a £200,000 grant towards the scheme.

Organisers hope to raise the remaining funds from a number of sources including Hampshire County Council’s adult services and community buildings grant, and Eastleigh Scouts, who may use the extension.
