CIVIC chiefs have given the green light to plans that would see up to 94 homes built on fields in Hampshire.

Highwood Group wants to develop land off St Johns Road, in Hedge End, south of Foord Road and west of Dodwell Lane, which would include a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom houses and one and twobedroom flats.

A council report is recommending the plans be approved with 42 conditions.

There will be new access for vehicles to St Johns Road, pedestrian and cycle links through Greenfield Close, drainage, landscaping and public open space.

Concerns had been raised about additional traffic in the area, while Southern Water says there is inadequate capacity to provide sewage disposal.
