TIME is running out to sign up for the Daily Echo Jobs Fair.

Employers are signing up in droves to exhibit at the event when it returns to Southampton on March 27.

Hundreds of jobseekers are expected to descend on the Southampton Novotel where they will be able to talk to a variety of businesses.

Solent NHS Trust, Sunrise Senior Living, Eastleigh College and Domino’s Pizza are just some of the big names joining the Daily Echo at the event.

Sarah Martin, associate director of human resources at Solent NHS Trust, said: “We have a large range of opportunities ranging from qualified nurses and physiotherapists to health care assistants. Solent NHS Trust is integral to the local community and specialises in providing community and mental health services.

“If you are looking to move in to a community setting, gain experience in mental health services or simply work part time on a temporary basis to keep your skills up to date we want to hear from you.”

Two programmes of seminars will be run by companies and the National Careers Service (NCS) during the day.

Daily Echo Editor-in-Chief Ian Murray will present a talk on careers in journalism while the event’s sponsors, Priory Education Services, are also running a careers session.

The NCS is running a series of talks aimed at improving skills such as CV writing, interviewing and effective jobseeking.

Red Funnel Ferries has announced it is cutting cross-Solent passenger fares to help jobseekers find work on the mainland, including offering a special £5 day return ticket for those attending the event on March 27. Under the scheme registered unemployed job-seekers will be able to travel to South-ampton on an £8.90 day return ticket from East or West Cowes and anyone who is successful finding a job will qualify for further Red Funnel discounts in their first six-18 months of employment.

Jonathan Green, sales & marketing director for Red Funnel, said: “We are pleased to not only offer discounted travel to the registered unemployed who are attending interviews on the mainland but also reduced Red Jet Season Ticket fares for up to 18 months.”
