A HAMPSHIRE dialysis unit has closed for four weeks for a £50,000 makeover.
The Totton Dialysis Unit has taken the step for a combination of essential works and refurbishment to improve its facilities.
This is being funded by the Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, whose Wessex Renal and Transplant Service runs the unit.
Most patients are getting their treatment in Basingstoke, with a small number travelling to Milford-on-Sea.
The unit, in Testwood Lane, Totton, offers dialysis treatment to 45 patients and is due to reopen at the beginning of April.
Changes include a clinical room revamp, new equipment and better internet access.
