IT was a fiery way to celebrate a major festival in a Hindu calendar.
Hundreds of worshippers gathered around a huge bonfire at the Vedic Hindi Society Temple to mark the arrival of spring along with hundreds of millions in the Indian sub-continent.
The Holi ceremony at the Radcliffe Road site is one of the biggest Hindu events in the city.
Temple priest Ritesh Bhatt said: “The festival allows people to destroy any negative thoughts and to pray to God and to bring light into our hearts.”
Falling at the start of spring, the festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil with the lighting of bonfires and the throwing of scented coloured powder
