SHE is the American singer whose fame means she is adored by fans across the world.

But villagers in a Hampshire community are used to spotting Beyonce in the local Mothercare after she and her rapper husband Jay-Z have spent the evening at a billionaire's nearby estate.

But now people in Woolton Hill are getting irritated by the noise from helicopter flights hedge fund co-founder Noam Gottesman has organised to get stars flown into his Burley estate at all hours of the night.

Villagers are reported to have expressed their frustration at the number of late night flights to the estate which is near Highclere Caste, the setting for TV series Downton Abbey.

They have been reporting of flights at irregular hours in the late evening and early morning, although Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council said they had received no complaints.

Mr Gottesman is believed to be worth $2 billion and has been getting high-profile stars such as Beyonce and Jay-Z flown in on several occasions.

The number of flights has now led to an investigation by the borough council into whether a planning application for a helipad had been made.

Mr Gottesman, who is reported to have dated American actress Lucy Liu and is a renowned art collector made headlines when he sold his London home for £117 million.
