PASSENGERS using the reopened Botley line between Fareham and Eastleigh had to face fresh delays just hours after it opened.

The line was up and running on Saturday after the country’s biggest landslip, but it suffered a signalling problem which saw trains delayed by 20 minutes.

The news comes after the line was closed from February 1, which saw thousands of commuters having to use replacement bus services. Contractors are still working near the line for a further eight weeks to ensure further landslides do not happen.
