Bike found 20ft up in tree

First published in News

FIREFIGHTERS retrieved a bike from a tree.

A crew from Eastleigh went to The Hub in Bishopstoke where a boy’s bike was stuck around 20ft high in a tree in the grounds at 6.30pm on Monday. They retrieved it using a ladder.

A firefighter at Eastleigh said it was a community favour rather than an emergency call out and they did not know how the bike had ended up in the tree.

I used to live in Millbrook as a lad, most lamposts had bicylce tires around them at the base. Was the tyre put there first, then the lampost or vice versa?

Probably stolen and thrown into the tree or someone climbed up while another handed the bike to them and put it there that way.

That used to be the "shop sign" of the local drug dealers (another advertisment was hanging old trailers over the phone wires)
