Campaign backed to boost stroke survival rates
PUBLIC health bosses are backing a campaign that aims to increase the survival rate of the 1,300 Hampshire residents suffering strokes each year.
The NHS ‘Act F.A.S.T.’ campaign aims to raise awareness about the signs of stroke.
Councillor Liz Fairhurst, Executive Member for Adult Services and Public Health, said: “I would urge everyone to remember the F.A.S.T message: face, arms, speech and time to call 999. The faster a stroke patient receives treatment the better their chances are of surviving.”
