A COMMUNITY meeting is being held tonight to reassure residents after a violent murder in a Hampshire town.

Officers are holding a Community Reassurance Meeting from 5.30pm close to Wells Place in Eastleigh.

And patrols in the area will be stepped up in response to the attack, according to superintendent Paul Barton.

It is in the wake of the killing of popular newsagent and dad Choudhry Zishan yesterday morning in High Street.

Police are sticking up leaflets in nearby shop windows and posting them through letter boxes.

The message says: "If anyone has any concerns that you would like to discuss regarding the recent tragic incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning please come along."

Local inspector James Douglas will be at the meeting alongside Hampshire Police's major investigation detective inspector Simon Baker.
