AN inquest into the death of a student who fell from a tower block to his death opened today.
Paul James Millgate was found dead on the roof of Tesco Express next to his Bournemouth University accommodation - Lyme Regis House - directly below his room on the tenth floor.
The body of the 20-year-old was discovered by a fellow student in the early hours of Friday morning, and identified by his father Stephen Millgate the following day.
The inquest heard that pathologist Joan McCutcheon had carried out a post-mortem and determined the cause of death as multiple injuries.
Coroner's officer Carolyn Stuart said: "This 20-year-old student at Bournemouth University lived in accommodation at Lyme Regis House.
"He was found by a fellow student on the canopy of Tesco Express, directly below his room on the tenth floor.
"He suffered multiple unsurvivable injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene."
Dorset coroner Sherriff Payne adjourned the inquest to resume on a provisional date of July 3.
