POLICE have issued this CCTV image of a minibus in the hope that its driver may have been a witness to a city centre stabbing.

Officers believe that the driver or anyone in the vehicle may have seen an 18-year-old stabbed multiple times as he made his way to work.

As previously reported, the teenager was walking into an estate agents in Portswood Road when he was assaulted from behind by two men wearing scarves covering their faces.

Witnesses said the victim was knifed a number of times, including in his buttocks, and suffered wounds to his arms as he tried to defend himself.

The minibus was in nearby Westwood Road, at about 9am on March 12, moments after one of the suspects ran out of the alleyway and into the road.

The area around Portswood Road and Gordon Avenue was cordoned off while police gathered evidence.

The victim was discharged from hospital later that day and required 40 stitches.
